Solar PV & Tesla Powerwall storage in Harrogate
A major system upgrade combining roof-mounted and ground-mounted bifacial solar with Tesla battery storage and whole-home backup control.
The project
Upgrading an established solar home for its next chapter.
Renewable Specialists upgraded this Whinney Lane property with thirty-two AIKO 475 W bifacial all-black panels. The existing mounting system was upgraded to accept sixteen panels, while a new Solarport ground-mount system carries a further sixteen panels in the grounds.
The existing Feed-in Tariff installation continues through a SolaX 3.6 kW string inverter. A Tesla Powerwall 3, two Powerwall expansion packs and a Tesla Backup Gateway 2 add substantial energy storage and intelligent backup capability to the property.
System specification
Existing solar retained. New capacity added.
The design brings upgraded mounting, ground-mounted generation, battery storage and backup control into one coordinated installation.
The existing mounting system was upgraded to accept the new bifacial AIKO panels.
A purpose-designed Solarport system provides a neat, productive ground-mounted array.
The established Feed-in Tariff system remains integrated within the upgraded installation.
Tesla storage provides substantial capacity for using more solar energy around the clock.
Coordinates the Tesla energy system and provides intelligent backup management.
